DESCRIPTION:http://www.torchi.org/ViewEvent.ashx?eventId=28389\n\n\nFrom HCI to Interaction Design \n \nDue to growth of new research paradigms such as  Ubiquitous Computing and/or Invisible Computers\, Human Computer Interaction or  Human Interface researchers now shift their focus from the usability of desktop  computers to Interaction Design that seeks how to create rich user experiences  in everyday lives.  Our laboratory follows this approach and has developed many  prototypes for  this direction.  We also had several exhibitions to show our  concepts and prototypes in different context\; they are the House Exhibition\, the  Train Exhibition\, the Coffee Exhibition\, the Fashion Exhibition\, and the Time  Exhibition.  I would like to explain our research paradigms\, show some examples\,  and discuss the issues and the future of Interaction  Design.\n\nMichiaki Yasumura is a professor in the Faculty of Environment and Information studies\, Keio University\, in Japan.  He is the director of the Interaction Design Laboratory at Keio SFC (the Shonan Fujisawa Campus). He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo.  He is a member of a number of academic societies\, including the ACM and the IPSJ (Information Processing Society of Japan). He has co-authored a number of books\, and has translated Donald Norman's three most recent books into Japanese.\n
