ABSTRACT: The field of Ux has morphed over the years, not only to demonstrate a need for Ux but also accommodate changing definitions and requirements of vast numbers of stakeholders and increasing pressure for product differentiation. What is  the current state of Ux Practice? Where do we go from here and how do we endure as a field, as well while remain relevant? Drawing from 9 years of experience, Kem will present some thoughts on these topics as well as some actionable pointers on embedding sustainable Ux in industry.

SPEAKER: Kem-Laurin has been worked in Ux for over 9  years with experiences in the areas of Postal Automation Software Design, Information & Communication Networks,  Medical CT / MR application design, as well as Health Information Systems. She is currently the Team Lead for Media User Experience at Research in Motion (http://www.rim.com/).  Kem-Laurin graduated from University of Ottawa & University of Waterloo, respectively in the Arts. You can also catch her on Johnny Holland magazine, where she has written a few Ux articles on the general topic of  Sustainable experience design, a topic which is her passion and pastime, when not gardening.
