How did we get to the current uneasy co-existence of Agile and Human-Centered Design (HCD)?  What challenges do we face today, and what are some solutions?

This talk will start by looking back to problems in HCD that Agile did help solve. This historical perspective places us in a better position to address current challenges. Next the talk will describe common anti-patterns in coordinating Agile and HCD, and how to address them. Finally, the talk will look to the future and cover the pitfalls and opportunities that lie ahead.

Brad Lehman is the co-author of the forthcoming book entitled  Human-Centered Agile and a contributor to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework). He works as a Practice Lead and HCD practitioner at ICF, the global consulting and technology services provider. He has over 20 years experience working with a wide range of government, enterprise, and non-profit clients. In his spare time, he is a DJ for a community radio station.
