Quantitative aspects of UX research appear in several guises including:

  • Determining sample sizes
  • Using scales to measure subjective responses like perceived usability
  • Conducting benchmarking assessments
  • Applying quantitative methods to qualitative data
  • etc.

Regardless of whether we are novice or expert in these topics, we can always learn a tip or two.  The format of this event is an AMA (Ask Me Anything) where audience members can ask questions and engage in spirited discussion with an expert on this topic.

Dr. James R. (Jim) Lewis is a Distinguished User Experience Researcher at MeasuringU and author of the book Quantifying the User Experience (with Jeff Sauro, 2nd ed., 2016). As well, Jim has had a long and broad career designing and evaluating user interfaces, including the first smart phone, the Simon. He is on over 90 US patents and has over 100 publications.
