PRESENTER: Erin Yu, User Experience Lead at CIBC

CIBC recently launched the iPad Mobile Banking app and it has been getting enthusiastic feedback. Erin Yu, User Experience Lead of Mobile at CIBC, will share her inside stories of designing and user-testing the app, including their approach to designing for the touch device and some of the challenges they encountered. She'll then give us a tour of the app and present the findings from a mini comparative usability study, in which the native app was compared against the web app from the user experience perspective.

Erin has over 7 years of designing user experiences for the mobile, web, and desktop platforms both in corporate and open-source environments. She holds a masters degree from Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at U of T and and a bachelors degree from Systems Design Engineering at U of Waterloo. Engineer by trade but designer at heart, she loves anything from interior design to interaction design.

If you have any questions or related topics you would like Erin to cover in her talk, feel free to tweet her @almondkey #TorCHI or email at
